PLasma activation

an efficient method of surface modification

Plasma activation ensures especially efficient surface modification for plastic, metal, composites, and more. Plasma activation creates pinpoint surface energy precisely where it’s needed, resulting in much better surface wettability, a requirement for optimal workpiece coating downstream.

How plasma activation works

This process activates the surface using an ionized gas, efficiently modifying the surface tension to simplify further processing.

Atmospheric pressure Plasma (AP Plasma)
Atmospheric plasma is generated in normal pressure, which eliminates the need for a low-pressure chamber. A special jet technology allows you to integrate potential-free plasma directly into the manufacturing process in normal-pressure conditions.

Corona (DBD Plasma)
Material surfaces are treated with the plasma of a dielectricbarrier discharge (DBD) to increase their surfaceenergy. As the surface energy increases, so too do the adhesive forces in the surface, which, for example, can improve wettability. This effect is used on an industrial scale in material production and enhancement.

Low-Pressure Plasma
Low-pressure plasma refers to plasma in which the pressure is much lower than that of the earth’s atmosphere. They’re used within a pressure range of just a few pascals and classified as nonthermal plasmas. Components are treated in a special treatment chamber.
